Analytics Overview


The Analytics team at DoorDash is goaled on continually improving our business through scientific and data-driven insights in partnership with functions across the company. We are encouraged to proactively generate insights based on a holistic view of the business using data, leverage data to prioritize initiatives for maximum impact, and scientifically test new products or processes to ensure we’re making the right decisions as a company.


Our Analytics Structure

Business Operations

DoorDash is a complex and constantly evolving business; The BizOps team is primarily responsible for crafting the story about business performance (what’s happening, why is it happening, what we should do about it), diving deep on key KPI trends, and surfacing insights and recommendations to stakeholders to ensure we understand our current business climate and react in a data-informed manner.

International Data Science

DoorDash operates in 28 markets outside the US. The International Data Science helps the local operators and decision makers in these non-US markets find consumer growth, network efficiency, and improved merchant experience by combining the best insights from the Core Data Science teams with local context from each market to make the mot juste decision for each market at the right time.

Dasher & Logistics

The Dasher Logistics Data Science team's mission is to create the most efficient and reliable logistics system while providing Dashers with the best gig platform experience. We do so by building a Dasher-first app that makes life better for Dasher to complete their tasks and reach their goals, improve the quality and efficiency of our logistics system to boost consumer growth, and lower delivery costs. As DoorDash’s demand diversifies, ensure our advantage in Logistics benefits every vertical by supplying the right Dasher for every delivery.

Merchant

Merchant is a key audience of DoorDash's ecosystem and a critical competitive advantage as we provide the best selection on the market to our consumers. The Merchant Analytics team works closely with the product, strategy, and operations teams to maximize our merchant selection and grow merchant's sales and experience. We also support new merchant product incubation and scaling including our Ads and Promotion product, first-party ecomm, and fulfillment products to build out a 360 merchant ecosystem in the long run.

Customer Experience & Integrity

The customer experience and integrity (CXI) analytics team’s mission is to help create a seamless, efficient, and satisfying customer support experience, to keep all users safe while interacting with DoorDash, facilitate trust in our offerings, and to protect our users and our company from fraud on our platform.

New Verticals

The New Verticals Analytics team’s mission is to “Deliver the Neighborhood” by expanding DoorDash’s marketplace to new categories including Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail. The team uses data and analysis to tackle high-impact problems across these businesses, spanning from Consumer growth and shopping experience, to Merchant integrations, to in-store Dasher fulfillment.

Consumer Growth

The Consumer Growth Data Science teams’ mission is to drive data-driven recommendations and solutions that grow and empower local economies, making your city easily accessible. We achieve this by providing analytics for new use cases, driving the growth of DoorDash's Monthly Active Users (MAUs), fostering long-term growth, managing customer lifecycle, and optimizing marketing investment efficiency.

Virtual Interview Process

Recruiter Phone Screen

In the first step of the process, you’ll speak with our recruitment team in a 20-30-minute call about what you’ve worked on, level expectations, and other key factors. During this time you’ll also learn about DoorDash and our interview process.

Round 1: Case Study & Codepair Interview

In this round, you will have a 30-minute coding interview and a 30-minute case study interview. More information can be found here.

Round 2: Virtual Onsite Interview

In this round, you will have three 45-minute case study interviews in addition to 1-3 behavioral interviews (pending job level and specifics).
