About the Role

We are looking for a Design leader to lead our savings strategy across the consumer app, defining our promotion system, seasonal and holiday experiences, and creating a delightful experience that people love. We are looking for a design leader with extensive platform experience and high level of craft.

Consumers love to save and we know that on DoorDash affordability is one of the major opportunities for us to improve the consumer experience while helping DoorDash grow. This role uniquely sits at the intersection of efforts across the company to address this problem. You will be leading the effort to define the holistic strategy and executing on that vision – influencing countless teams across the company.

You will report directly to the Head of Growth and Engagement Design. This role is a hybrid opportunity, with 2-3 days a week onsite from one of our Design hubs and some time remote.

  • Contribute directly to DoorDash's consumer product strategy and define the future of our service.
  • Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity and then chart a path forward

  • Influence the team's approach to product development, shaping both the team and our processes
  • Align the team’s priorities and deliverables to DoorDash's overarching strategy and goals

  • You're comfortable working within complex product ecosystems and navigating ambiguity
  • You have 10+ years of experience in design, with 3 years minimum in team building and management
  • You have managed a team of 5+ Designers before
  • You're enthusiastic about collaboration and team-building.

  • You are a respected people manager; You know how to motivate a team even in the most challenging times
  • You are able to stand up for shipping a quality product
  • You make a great thought partner for your cross-functional teams

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.  Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
