About the Team

DoorDash is revolutionizing the delivery experience for merchants and customers by offering the next generation of fulfillment services. We’re looking for someone to join the Drive - New Verticals S&O team to rapidly scale our next big bet.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about scaling high growth businesses to join our rocketship on Drive, DoorDash’s white label fulfillment offering. High quality delivery performance is essential for our aggressive growth - and you will be responsible for monitoring our daily performance, flagging issues, and working with highly cross functional teams to resolve individual delivery exceptions and drive operational improvements to prevent future exceptions. We are looking for a highly motivated, first-principles thinker who has a deep sense of ownership and is able to walk the fine line between diving into the lowest level of detail in our data and product, while still being able to think about the high level strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Drive Strategy and Operations, you will work closely with operations, analytics, support, product, engineering, and other teams to make your vision a reality. This is a highly operational role that requires both a deep understanding of operational processes as well as data analytics.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build: this is a net new function within the team, and you will help shape this capability from the ground up. You will set requirements, work with product and analytics to build tooling, and establish how this function interacts with the larger business.
  • Define: you define requirements for performance, and define what triggers to look for when considering suboptimal performance. To do this, you will gain a deep understanding of our operations and our customers’ and merchants’ needs.
  • Analyze: you will analyze data and performance indicators to quickly resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner: you will lead a cross functional team to resolve issues. You will be responsible for assigning resolution tasks to a wide variety of teams and ensuring our quality standards are met. You will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization, from daily operators to executives.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 5+ years experience, with at least 2 years direct industry experience in a delivery fullment quality, monitoring, or exceptions management role. You have an extreme sense of ownership. You display extreme ownership for the products and business lines that you are responsible for. You never shy away from raising your hand to solve ambiguous problems and are able to motivate and empower your teammates to go above and beyond.
  • You’re an analytical powerhouse.  You expertly navigate data to make conclusions and drive action, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL and modeling in Excel.
  • You act with urgency.  Speed excites you. You prefer an accomplishment today to an accomplishment tomorrow.
  • You’re a builder. You enjoy building from the ground up and excel in creating structure and process.
  • You don’t need a guide. You dive into difficult problems and come up with a plan.
  • You thrive with a diverse set of responsibilities.  You love working across a breadth of disciplines and teams.
  • You’re even-keeled. You thrive under pressure and maintain a sense of calm when faced with challenging and time-sensitive obstacles.
  • You’re persuasive. You are an effective communicator, speaking as if you’re right and listening as if you’re wrong. You meet people on their level.

We expect to fill this role by 11/11/2024.
