The Compensation design and delivery team builds and manages compensation programs for DoorDash. Our work impacts every employee globally through the programs we administer. The team also has an important role to play by ensuring our employee value proposition is competitive in the marketplace and financially sustainable.

About the Role

The Compensation Design Specialist manages the development, implementation, and management of DoorDash's compensation strategy to help us shape our future. You will own our global range setting process and methodology as well as be responsible for compensation education across the company. You will partner closely with our compensation analytics team to develop models for examining the need and impact of new compensation strategies.  

You’re excited about this role because you’ll:

  • Develop methodology and partner with compensation partners to conduct regular salary range reviews as well as adjustments to pay structures as needed to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Define and implement strategy on surveys and partner with people analytics and recruiting on other key data points for range creation and monitoring market trends.
  • Conduct market studies and analysis to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment to our total rewards philosophy.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay.
  • Develop and implement guidelines for modifying job catalog and descriptions.
  • Develop communication and training materials to explain compensation programs, policies, and decisions to employees at all levels.
  • Define requirements and collaborate with our HR Technology team to build Workday configuration to support compensation structures and ranges.
  • Work cross functionally alongside our compensation partners to provide compensation analyses and other deliverables to our partners on the Finance and Legal teams and business leaders.

We’re excited about you because:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Math or a related field and at least 7+ years of experience.
  • You have a keen ability to deliver against a plan with an operational mindset, and have a track record for helping design, driving, managing and scaling compensation programs through policies, processes, and systems.
  • You have exceptional stakeholder management skills; you pride yourself on building strong relationships that serve as one of the foundations of your leadership.
  • You have strong business acumen, data analysis skills and an understanding of equity/stock compensation.
  • You can apply change management and thrive in an evolving business while staying anchored to your goals and the Total Rewards strategy.
  • You have strong communication skills and experience developing training on compensation topics for broad based audiences. 
  • You have advanced excel / sheets skills and experience with Workday

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
